Restaurant is clean and the service is great. They have a large offering, I ended up ordering the Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich with Cole Slaw as my side. The sandwich exceeded my expectations. We had some French fries to share and they were VERY good. All of the food is really good, especially for a humble cafe. Five stars, I will be back.

This was an interesting week and did not allow for exploring after PT. Yesterday, we had errands to run, following the lessons I taught first. We have eaten here before. I had just never reviewed it. So, following errands we stopped for dinner. Country Rose is a quaint little restaurant, across from the Spanaway Golf Course and shares a huge shopping area with Safeway and Tractor Supply among other businesses. We were greeted and seated almost immediately by a very friendly hostess. The menu had changed some since our last visit, but the tried and true was still there. While I did not order breakfast, it is served all day for those who like a late breakfast or breakfast for dinner. I ordered fish and chips with a salad instead of coleslaw, which our friendly and attentive server was able to do without hesitation. My husband ordered the Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes, gravy, and salad. The dinner vegetable was green beans. Our food arrived in short order. My fish was lightly breaded, flaky and not at all greasy. Ditto with the fries as in hot, crisp and not greasy. There was more than enough tartar sauce for my fish. I don’t use a lot but some restaurants only give you enough for one piece, maybe two if you are lucky. Ray said his food was hot, and the gravy on the meat and potatoes was perfectly seasoned. The potatoes looked homemade and not out of a box. The green beans looked fresh, were bright green and did not look soft or mushy. Country Rose had a variety of desserts. Ray, of course, picked their carrot cake which is very good. He had already eaten a couple of bites before I snapped the picture. This restaurant definitely attracts a much more mature crowd. Quite a few were regulars and were warmly greeted by name by all of the staff who saw and recognized them. The downside to the age demographic were the cell phone conversations on speaker, and those with hearing loss seated at other tables, who were speaking loudly so as to be heard. While not a deterrent to us going back, not everyone might understand, although we will all be there at some point one day. It was nice to see everyone, including us, be treated so well and kindly by the entire staff.

The fish I got was super nice but the chicken fried steak was just okay. We had a mix up on the kids meal we ordered which was fine but it wasn’t the end of the world. The people were super kind. Overall we thought it was good but a big pricey for dinner.

Food was good. Gluten free food took a little longer to cook but it was a slow day and the oven takes a few to preheat. But overall the food is really good, everybody enjoyed their food. The gluten-free dessert was a chocolatey cheesecake like thing I don't remember what it was called but it was delicious and my kids loved it too. And the chicken strips are so good I haven't had a chicken strip that I didn't cook in so long. Wonderful restaurant overall and I will be back.

I have been driving past the Country Rose for years, I finally stopped there today. I’m sorry I didn’t stop by sooner. Excellent food, and service. I had a club on rye with fries. The sandwich was great with fresh, high quality ingredients. The fries were perfect. Crisp on the outside and moist inside with a nice texture and great flavor. I’ll definitely be going back.

From the moment I walked in, the service at the restaurant stood out as exceptional. The staff greeted me warmly and maintained a friendly and professional attitude throughout the entire visit. They were attentive without being intrusive, making sure everything was just right without us having to ask. The restaurant itself was spotless, from the entryway to the dining area and even the restrooms. The attention to cleanliness and maintenance made the atmosphere feel both comfortable and welcoming, and it was clear that the team takes pride in keeping the place in top shape. As for the food, every dish we ordered was full of flavor and beautifully presented. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and each bite was balanced and satisfying. One thing I did notice was the absence of a bar. It would have been nice to enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine with the meal, especially since the overall ambiance would pair perfectly with a drink menu. That said, the quality of the service and food more than made up for it. Overall, this is a place I’ll gladly return to and confidently recommend to anyone looking for a well-rounded dining experience.
